This programme’s grant pot is replenished each year from Macc’s fundraising at the Awards Ceremony that is part of the annual Spirit of Manchester Festival. Spirit of Manchester highlights and celebrates all the excellent work that benefits our local communities being carried out by the city’s VCSE sector.
The mini-grants were created in 2016 to form part of Macc’s annual Spirit of Manchester initiative. The funds raised are channelled into providing mini-grants that enables local voluntary and community organisations to work together to make a difference in their local community. The programme’s "mini-projects" are small-scale and short-term activities.
In all, seven mini-grants of up to £500 have been awarded in 2016 and so far in 2017. The total amount of money distributed across the two years is £2,750.
